Statement by City of Bryan on July 4 Incident
The City of Bryan is aware an incident occurred over the July 4 weekend involving the Bryan Police Department.
We sweat more in the summer than any other time of the year. So, it’s very important to stay hydrated. When rehydrating, be sure to drink water, not other drinks like sodas which don’t replenish your body as well. In addition to keeping yourself hydrated, make sure your pets are getting plenty of water as well and never leave them in a hot car during the summer.
There’s nothing like boxing up those winter jeans and jackets and pulling out your tanks, shorts, and sundresses. But remember, the more your skin is exposed to the sun, the more protection it will need from sunburns. Always put on sunscreen before going outdoors, and make sure you’re using sunscreen that has enough protection depending on your own personal skin requirements. Also, if you’re outside for an extended period of time, make sure to reapply your sunscreen at various times, and seek shady spots when possible.
It may seem minor, but just like your skin, your eyes need more protection in summer due to the power of the sun’s rays. By using UVA and UVB blocking sunglasses, a hat, or a combination of the two, you’ll save your eyes from painful damage caused by the sun.
