Travis Fields selected as a Project of the Year by Texas APWA
The City of Bryan’s newly renovated Travis Fields at Travis Bryan Midtown Park has been selected as an APWA Project of the Year – Structures, $5 Million to $25 Million, by the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association.
Veterans memorial monument coming to Bryan City Cemetery
Veterans will be honored in a new way at the Bryan City Cemetery, beginning this fall. Ellen Fuller with Wreaths Across America is spearheading an effort to construct a granite memorial honoring Brazos Valley veterans that will be located in the veterans section of Bryan City Cemetery.
Six Bryan parks to receive new playgrounds
Six of Bryan parks throughout the community are set to receive new or replacement playgrounds, after the Bryan City Council approved the purchase and installation of nearly $1 million worth of playgrounds at their April meeting.

David Schmitz has officially been named the Director of Parks & Recreation and Facilities for the City of Bryan, beginning Nov. 29, 2021. Schmitz has been serving as Bryan’s Interim Director of Parks & Recreation and Facilities since July.
