Smoke Testing to Begin the Week of March 24
Beginning Monday, March 24, and continuing intermittently through March 31, contractors with the City of Bryan’s Water Services will conduct smoke testing of sanitary sewer lines. Smoke testing identifies broken pipes and other defects by injecting smoke into the sewer lines through manholes.

The City of Bryan is committed to supporting the continued success and vibrancy of Historic Downtown Bryan. As part of ongoing efforts to plan for the future, temporary SafetyStick devices have been installed in five areas around downtown. These devices, provided by Municipal Parking Services (MPS), will collect real-time parking utilization data over a 30-day period and will be removed after the study concludes. These devices are for data collection only and will not issue citations.
This research is part of the city’s ad hoc Downtown Parking Committee’s mission to gather data, explore best practices from other communities, and provide informed recommendations that will help meet the evolving needs of our downtown residents, businesses, and visitors.
As downtown continues to flourish, the City of Bryan is proactively working to ensure that we are prepared for the future. This parking study is just one of the many ways we are gathering valuable information to help keep Historic Downtown Bryan a welcoming and accessible destination for all.
