On Dec. 3, Bryan Mayor Bobby Gutierrez and College Station Mayor John Nichols went head-to-head to ring for the Salvation Army’s 16th Annual Mayor Ring Off – a friendly competition to raise money to help provide essential services to those in need in our community.
$6,264.24 was raised from the City of Bryan and $2,244.04 from the City of College Station, making the City of Bryan the winner for the 15th year in a row. In total, the competition brought in $8,508.28 that will go directly toward year-round, Salvation Army programs to assist Brazos County residents.
“This is annually one of our largest days of fundraising for our Red Kettle Season to help raise critical funds for all we do at The Salvation Army to help those in need in the community,” said Captain Timothy Israel.
The Salvation Army of Bryan/College Station would like to thank everyone who participated. Donations to the Red Kettle Campaign can still be made at kettles near you around the area as well as online through Dec. 24.
