Camp Counselor
Miss attending summer camp? Then this is the job for you! As a camp counselor, you’ll be asked to participate in all the activities that camp has to offer. This includes random karaoke sessions, playing with slime, field trips to the zoo and having fun at the pool! Camp counselors will need to hold or obtain certification in First Aid and CPR/AED (Course C.) The certification course will be provided free of charge, if selected for hire.
Pay: $10 per hour (may come in higher with previous experience)

Swimming Pool Cashier
In this role, you’ll be the first person a patron interacts with at the pool. As cashier, you’ll be tasked with greeting patrons, collecting admission fees, and providing general information at one of three city pools: Sadie Thomas Pool, Henderson Harbor, and the Bryan Aquatic Center.
Pay: $10 per hour

Swim Coach
Do you have experience with competitive swimming, teaching swim lessons, or coaching a swim team? Apply to coach the Bryan Barracudas, the City of Bryan’s recreational swim team for ages 4-18.
Pay: $11 per hour (May come in higher with previous experience or certification)

Swim Instructor
As a swim instructor, you’ll be responsible for teaching the city’s swim lessons. This role holds a similar responsibility to that of lifeguards, but you will be working directly with patrons to teach water safety. Swim instructors will need to hold an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification or equivalent.
Pay: $11 per hour (May come in higher with previous experience or certification)

Lifeguard
As a lifeguard, you’ll be responsible for keeping patrons safe and preventing accidents around a city pool. But the best part is that you’ll get to do your job with an awesome team! Aspiring lifeguards will need to hold or obtain an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification. Cost of lifeguard certification training will be refunded at the end of summer for those who work with us. Other benefits include a free lifeguard suit, fanny pack and whistle.
Pay: $12 per hour (may come in higher depending on previous experience and certifications)

Head Lifeguard
Have experience working as a lifeguard and ready to take on more responsibility? As head lifeguard, you’ll be responsible for the daily operations and supervision of lifeguards and patrons. You will perform all lifeguard responsibilities, such as monitoring pool activities, enforcing facility rules, responding quickly to emergency situations, administering first aid, and performing water rescues as needed. Head lifeguards will also serve as manager on duty when a supervisor is not present. See job description for a full list of required certifications.
Pay: $14 – $16 per hour (depending on previous experience)

Interested in becoming a lifeguard, but not certified? That’s okay, we’ll train you!
Bryan Parks and Recreation has been recognized by the American Red Cross as a top-level training provider in Texas for lifesaving skills certifications. This course includes Lifeguarding, CPR/AED and First Aid. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a universal certificate that is valid for two years.
