The City of Bryan has updated the Floodplain Management Plan, also known as the Flood Mitigation Plan, and is seeking public input on the draft plan during a public meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 15 at 5:30 p.m. in the Bryan City Hall Basement Training Room.
The draft plan evaluates the city’s flood hazards and vulnerabilities, assesses local capabilities to implement flood mitigation projects, and identifies a wide range of mitigation actions that the city can pursue to reduce flood risks and impacts. It also supports the city’s Community Rating System participation, which provides discounted flood insurance to policyholders in Bryan.
You can provide written feedback about the draft plan by emailing Sam Vernon, Assistant City Engineer, or David Stroud, WSP Planning Consultant. The deadline to provide feedback is Sept. 1.
