Stay Active and Connected with Senior Socials

Looking for a fun way to stay active, meet new people, and learn something new? The Parks and Recreation Department invites adults ages 55 and older to take part in monthly socials, offering a variety of engaging activities and discussions.

Whether you’re interested in technology, gardening, coffee, or just a fun time with music, there’s something for everyone.

Registration is required for socials with fees. You can preregister or pay at the door.

Second Tuesday of Each Month, 1 – 3 p.m.

Jan. 14: AI Awareness Presentation (Free)

Clara B. Mounce Public Library, 201 E. 26th St.

City of Bryan’s Information Technology Department will host a presentation on artificial intelligence (AI), covering its benefits, risks, and how to spot scams and misinformation.

Feb. 11: ‘80s Singo ($5 per person)

Neal Recreation Center, 600 N. Randolph Ave.

Singo is a fun musical twist on the traditional game of Bingo. Instead of calling out numbers, players listen for their favorite ‘80s music hits.

March 11: Cardio Dance Class ($5 per person)

Neal Recreation Center, 600 N. Randolph Ave.

A fun workout that combines staying fit with dancing to R&B and old-school hits. The instructor will accommodate all participants, ensuring everyone can join in.

April 8: Gardening Class ($5 per person)

Learn how to start your own garden and maintain it throughout the season. Get expert advice on planting, caring for plants, and keeping your garden healthy year-round.

May 13: Midday Brew Session ($5 per person)

What’s the Buzz Specialty Coffee will share the rich history of their coffee beans and the roasting process that brings out the delicious flavors in their coffee.

June 10: Vacation Fraud Prevention Presentation (Free)

Learn how to avoid vacation scams by understanding the common frauds surrounding vacation deals. Get tips on how to protect yourself and find out where to report fraud.

July 8: Library System Presentation (Free)

The Bryan + College Station Public Library System will provide information about their services, programs, how to get a library card, and free one-on-one computer help classes.
